We Started with Just 4 Raised Beds...
Our Property
Our property is located in Middle Tennessee and sits on 77 acres of land, although the garden only takes up maybe an acre of space. We started with 4 raised beds behind our house in April 2020 and from there we have expanded in just 3 short years.
In April 2020, Marcus and their son built Barbara her "1st garden" which was 4 raised beds in the back of their house. Barbara was so proud to have those raised beds but of course nervous and unsure what to do next week. She knelt down beside her first garden beds, prayed and asked God to help her as she planted her first seeds in the ground. God blessed her with not just plants that season, but he planted within her a LOVE for gardening that she could not explain. From that day forward, those 4 raised beds would not be enough for her new found love and passion for growing food.
Then came the expansion:
Made 4 raised beds behind the house
Had high tunnel built- 30x96
Added 5th raised bed behind the house
Created a 2,000 sq. feet in-ground garden
Expanded the in ground garden to 4000 square feet
Additional Plans:
In the future, we plan to add a 2nd high tunnel that will serve as a seed starting production tunnel so that we can eventually sell plant starts.
